The air flow sensor is used for flow measurement in compressed air and gases. The sensor applies in the compressed air consumption measurement, flow measurement of passivation gases as well as for consumption measurement of compressed air tools and air-powered machines. Beginning from connection thread size 1" the mass flow sensor is equipped with the intelligent Multi-Point-Measurement-Technology (MPM), which allows highly precise and reproducible measurement values even in installations with a poor flow profile. An inlet distance of only 3 x D is sufficient to achieve best measurement results.

In many installations, displays built into the flow sensor either cannot be seen or due to the mounting position of the sensor simply cannot be read. Nevertheless, there is a need to display the measured values of the sensors on site and at a glance.

In many areas the measurement of flow velocity and/or volume flow at higher temperatures of up to +350 °C is very important in terms of energy efficiency, quantity detection and plant control.

To measure air and gas flows accurately and reproducibly, many parameters have to be correct. Therefore, the positioning of the sensor decisively determines the quality of the measurement results.

SCHMIDT Technology offers a price sensitive flow sensor under the designation SS 20.260, which is characterised by its compact and rugged design. With a measuring range up to 60 m/s and its linear output signal, it is an universal sensor for measuring flow velocity, volume flow or mass flow under atmospheric conditions. The sensor element is well protected against mechanical stress by the impact resistant chamber head. Via two LEDs, the sensor indicates whether the supply voltage is sufficient and if it works properly.
